In Part 1 of Episode 4, I talk to Kim Frank, an Idaho writer, explorer, and documentary filmmaker about how she got from her childhood on the Jersey Shore to Sun Valley and beyond. These days Kim is an award-winning writer working on a documentary film to tell the story of the largely unknown (in the West) human/Asian Elephant conflict on the border of India and Nepal.

Her memoir, Where the Forest Roars, will be out next January. It chronicles her transformation as she stepped up to help bring attention and awareness to the conflict. She's someone who isn't content to take well-worn paths in her career but is blazing her own way - building that new boat.

Her favorite quote is now mine: "We have two lives, the second one begins when we realize we only have one." Yes! For all of us living the carpe diem life (or wanting to), Kim’s a wicked smart inspiration with a big heart. I can’t wait for you to meet her.
