It’s about two women who have been best friends all their lives who decide to go after their equestrian dreams at an age when it’s no reasonable to do so (in a mega teeny nutshell! Your question was good because it’s made me think about how to summarize it, which is something I always find difficult. I could answer more specifically but I’m not yet ready to do that...) Thanks for asking!
Horses have been my lifelong passion. I’ve ridden dressage for decades but I can’t ride anymore due to health issues, so now I do it in my head. Do you ride? Do you have horses?
My horse is in a dressage barn about 5 minutes from my house. I've found that after we sold our horse property (and sold one horse and adopted out another) I don't ride anymore. That needs to go back on my list! I'm always riding in my head too. Still have my saddle!
I hope you can ride again. I still hope I may be able to ride again, too. I suffered a neck ligament injury two years ago and have had to put many things on hold ever since. But I can write again as long as I don’t do so for a gazillion hours at a time!
It’s hard to come back later in life, but unless there is something wrong that could get worse if anything happened, I think it should be possible. It’s about knowing your limits. I tried to ride again a year ago and it hurt to take any sort of tension in the reins, and I was too frightened of experiencing the sort of pain I’d had initially, so I decided it wasn’t worth it. But who knows...?! Our bodies are pretty impressive. I just wish I could have taken my horse to GP. We were so close!
I love this! I remembered today, how I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. Not amazingly, enough to accompany myself singing or to gather a few people together to sing. Some basic chords will suffice. I'm only 37, it's not too late! I know a man who started learning to play in his 50s and released a blues album before he died. He did it! I'm doing it!
My 72 year old husband started playing a year ago. If he can, we can! It helps to pick a song to inspire yourself to do it. Mine is "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive". What's yours???
I’m always waiting for when I have time! But you’re right we need to seize the day! Today!!
Yes! Mika's Doing It!
It’s not too late to get more serious about finishing my novel about it not being too late! Thanks for this! Perfect!
YES! If you didn't you'd regret it What's it about, Francesca?

More than anything, the physical motivation has waned. Gotta build that back. So glad you're still riding!

Now there you go, inspiring me! Thanks, Francesca!
